A List of Reasons Why I am Stupid

Bear in mind that this list is not all-inclusive. Feel free to add additional reasons in the comments section.

1. I'm afraid a shark will eat me in swimming pools.
2. Until a year ago, I didn't know where hay came from.
3. I speak before I think sometimes.
4. I turn down the radio if I am low on gas or lost.
5. I went through THREE sensors on Emma before Amy reminded me, via telephone, that you can't put IV prep on before you do a sensor.

That last one is the big one.

  1. 1. I'm with you on this. Also, I fear sharks in the toilet. Just as rational.
    2. ... where does hay come from?
    3. Me, too.
    4. Me, too! (And my mother does this as well.)
    5. I did this only once. And it was a wild ride. :( I hope things are better now.

  2. 1) And alligators. And snakes. And deadly amoebas. Do I have a water phobia...?
    2) Ditto Kerri :)
    3) Um, ditto...
    4) WHY do we do this?! Especially when low on gas!
    5) Never did this, but then I'm on MDI. I've forgotten many boluses for meals, that I can own up to. But, in the whirlwind of D care you're allowed at least one mistake ;-)

  3. Okay, I'm new to Dexcom, so I'm a little clueless about #5. Why can't you use IV Prep before a sensor, just like an infusion site? I did for my first sensor, and my readings have been great (after the first day calibration mess).

Also, isn't hay just dried grass? I think I've seen some huge rolls of it on one of my relatives' farms...

  4. Now this is a Meme I can relate to:

1 I fear sharks at the card table – so I never take a glass of water there.
2 Hay by any other name would still make me sneeze.
    3 Thinking is over rated.
4 I turn the radio UP if some one in the car has gas. (No point in hearing it too.)
5 I often need more than three phone calls from my wife to correct #3

  5. When you need the list of what makes you weird I have one....it starts with the bean thing. ;)

  6. "I turn down the radio if I am low on gas or lost."

Me too. I thought I was alone in this, apparently a lot of other people do this too! Who knew?
