I'm Fired Up

Yes, this is a diabetes blog. But it's MY diabetes blog. And when something strikes my fancy I will post about it. A comment on my last post from "anonymous" questioned why I posted it on a diabetes blog.

Diabetes does not insulate me from life. Diabetes does not make me immune to the world around me that doesn't involve testing blood sugars or keeping the never-ending doctors' appointments. I would point out that a diabetic...the PARENT of a diabetic, would have more to gain from liberal policies than many people. But I will never be a liberal. I understand their arguments, and for a while, I pretended not to care. This election matters. And I cannot "not care."

Barack Hussein Obama sat in a church for 20 plus years and listened to a man that hates America. HATES America. If YOU or I went to a church that railed and railed about the "US of K.K.K.A.," and we offered the feeble argument that we didn't agree, do you think anyone would buy that? Please.

Barack Hussein Obama couldn't even improve test scores in South Chicago.

Barack Hussein Obama thinks that taxing oil companies and other businesses is just a grand idea. Right. And those businesses will just absorb the tax? Try again Barack Hussein Obama.

Mrs. Barack Hussein Obama has, until this year, been ashamed of being an American.

Barack Hussein Obama believes that if a doctor doesn't succeed at murdering an unborn child then the child should be delivered and left in a storage closet to die on its own.

Barack Hussein Obama has never been an executive of any kind in the public or private sector. His biggest claim is as a "community organizer."

Barack Hussein Obama says he didn't support the war. Wow, what an act of courage. He wasn't in the Senate at the time.

Barack Hussein Obama admits in one of his TWO autobiographies that he readily enjoyed drinking beer and doing drugs as a teenager. Not experimented. ENJOYED.

Barack Hussein Obama is an excellent public speaker......as long as he has a prepared script. Barack Hussein Obama refuses to do Town Hall meetings with John McCain because John McCain doesn't have to think about the political ramifications of his answers.

Barack Hussein Obama is the single most liberal member of the Senate. Even more than Ted Kennedy. Would the most conservative member of the US Senate be given that kind of free pass by the media? PUHLEEEEEZE.

Sarah Palin has more character, experience, intellect, and real life experience than Barack Hussein Obama's campaign could ever manufacture.

I'm voting for McCain-Palin. Change matters, as long as it's for the better.

  4. Big thumbs up from me. There is no grey area in this election for me either. If you hate America and think everything we do is bad, then you have your candidate. If you love America and think it's a pretty darn good place to be, then you have your candidate. I'll be with that latter train of thought. Lot's of blogs to choose from kids. If you don't like it, click on something else. Libs think free speech is fine - as long as it's their free speech and you agree with them....otherwise you're a hater. Free speech is a two-way street kids.

  5. I was waiting to see the reactions to this post. The last time I posted something 'political' I was eaten alive and accused of not caring about kids or diabetes.

I formed my political affliation long before I had diabetes and I don't think diabetes will ever cause me to waiver on that.

This election is about WAY more than a single issue.

  6. "Change matters, as long as it's for the better."

Better is relative to your position, resources, beliefs, practices....your better is not necessarily my better. THAT would be why it's a democracy...well, in theory.

I don't support either candidate fully...and I am disgusted that it has come to this decision for me personally. I have often in my life not been proud of my government and fellow Americans. You can view that as a shameful thing, I think it's honest.

From where I stand...we lose no matter who wins.

  7. It would be Palin has more in her little finger than Obama has in his entire body...your humorous analogy makes no sense....kind of like picking Palin.

  8. ayiyi, why must politics bring out the worst in everyone? Gawl, the bit of contention in just these comments is kinda wow... IMHO.

  9. I was wondering if you were going to address being able to write whatever you want on YOUR blog after seeing the comment on the last post. Very few diabetes blogs stick ONLY to diabetes. So why should you!?

    AMEN!!....and I'm not writing anonymously!!

I'd love to know how you think "the PARENT of a diabetic, would have more to gain from liberal policies than many people."?? I guess I'm not seeing it.

  10. Well if McCain had to pick a gun toting, inexperienced, anti sexual education and reproductive rights of ANY sort, animal shooting, environmental enemy who seems proud she has raised Juno....at least he picked one the GOP boys think is hot.

Now excuse me while I pick the glass shards from that ceiling out of my hair.

  11. To respond to one of the comments... I see a PARENT of a diabetic having to gain more from liberal policies in two matters, both of which are primary political issues for me. (1) stem cell research. Democrats are FOR stem cell research, which I believe is the greatest chance for a future cure for Type 1 diabetes and many other chronic, even terminal conditions. If a parent of a diabetic has to chose not to support stem cell research due to moral reasons -- which I respect, for no one should vote against their conscience -- this choice costs them. Actually, John McCain does support stem cell research so either candidate and stem cell research will go forward. John McCain did vote YEA for the Stem Cell Research Act (2) Democrats support some form of Universal Health Care or supplemental health care for those that cannot afford health care. Why a parent of a diabetic would be interested in this is self-explanatory. Even if a parent has wonderful health insurance and does not need to depend on universal health care, one day their diabetic child might. Insulin and test strips equals life, yet many adults cannot afford basic necessities if they are laid off or an economic setback occurs. I would like to see universal health care pass. The reality is if your child is uncovered for a period of only THREE MONTHS, they can be denied coverage because they had a preexisting condition! If it were not for these two issues, I would not care which candidate won.

  12. It is true that somebody can be denied coverage because of a Preexisting condition. But thats only true if they try to get private insurance. If my child or any other person gets a job where Health insurance is a perk then preexisting or not, they have insurance. My girl friend's ex husband needed hip replacement extremly bad. So bad in fact it left him in a wheelchair for almost 2 years, gaining a ton of weight and almost considering suicide, the sad thing is, he's an ex vet. He was waiting to get the hip replacement threw the VA but they kept putting it off, putting it off, making him wait and wait and wait. He did get the hip replacment for both his finally and is a lot better, lost all the weight and is a happy person again. BUT the point is, the reason it took so long is because he was waiting on the government. And as far as I'm concerned thats how everybody's health care would be if it was Universal. I have family in another country that has a Universal type health care and he had to was a year and a half for heart surgery.. that's crazy.

  13. About the only thing we agree on is that this election matters but not in ways you seem to be thinking about. The American economy is completely tanking while McCain bumbles along saying it is sound. Palin keeps trying to put on McCain's teflon suit to hide her lies, appalling lack of ethics, and complete incompetence. McCain has an explosive temper and at best can be called a war obsessed, doddering old misogynist. (Spain is in Europe, a man with any respect for women doesn't call his wife a c%^t, and singing bombbombIran shows a complete lack of understading about the issues you are currently facing.) America is facing war (maybe 100 years according to McCain), economic ruin, global warming, loss of respect and allies on the world stage, a looming energy crisis and a current healthcare nightmare.
All this and you are going to base your vote on the misinformation and irrelevant drivel you have written here?
And what's with using Obama's middle name all the time? Do you use McCain's middle name or Palin's? Is it his name that scares you or the color of his skin? Or is it just that he's willing to use diplomatic tools rather than weapons of mass destruction to try to keep this world safe.

Honestly Republicans like you scare me. I hope your kids will forgive you when you have to look them in the eye and explain why when you voted away their future.
